Deep Tissue Massage is a massage technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles and tendons.

Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eradicate scar tissue. This type of massage usually focuses on more detailed areas and may cause some soreness during or immediately following the massage. This discomfort is of a temporary nature.

Why get a Deep Tissue Massage?

Not only does it feel good but it is beneficial to your health. Oxygen and nutrients are blocked by stressed muscles. This leads to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissues. A Deep Tissue Massage helps loosen muscle tissue, release toxins from muscles and get blood and oxygen circulating properly.

Modern day Seated Acupressure, is also referred to as on-site or chair massage, is a hybrid of the ancient Oriental massage arts of Anma. Anma is Japanese for 'press and rub' and this therapy aims to stimulate the acupressure points in the head , neck, shoulders, spine and lower back.

Seated Acupressure Massage therapy is excellent for relieving stress and tension and encouraging knotted, tight muscles to loosen up. It helps with backache, repetitive strain injury, asthma, headaches, migraines, toothache, fatigue, sinus problems, menstrual pain, digestive problems, eyestrain, anxiety, irritability and insomnia.
